Since this pot wasn’t intended for cooking and I saw it as a great repurposing opportunity, I consulted with my service managers for advice on the best bonding agents. Their expertise in working with similar materials was invaluable. They recommended this product, so I ordered two tubes from Amazon, unsure of how much I would need.
When it arrived, I discovered it was a putty-like material that is white in color. To my surprise, I only needed one tube, and even then, I used less than half! A little goes a long way. The putty worked flawlessly, filling the cracks effectively. Just remember to shape it quickly, as it dries fast, which I appreciated. I didn’t aim for perfection; I just needed it to fill the large crack since I planned to repaint the pot afterward.
Before painting, I decided to test it by filling the pot with water, and I was impressed—there were no leaks! I’m confident I could use it as a planter without any concerns about water escaping.
I still have plenty of this product left for future projects, and I’m excited about having such a reliable solution on hand. After shutting off the water supply, I drained the box and cleaned both the pipe and valve using isopropyl alcohol, then roughened the surface with 120 grit sandpaper. I carefully mixed the Water Weld Epoxy and applied it around the entire connection. After waiting several hours to let it set, I turned the water back on and was pleasantly surprised to find that the leak had completely stopped!
