Easy to apply, but the surface must be very clean for proper adhesion.

After snapping the bolts and nuts on my 26-year-old downstream O2 sensor, I needed this to secure the replacement. It’s tucked away and shielded from road hazards, so I highly doubt it will come loose until the whole exhaust system needs replacing.

Excellent high-temperature product that performs effectively. Cures according to instructions, fills gaps seamlessly, and is easy to shape with a file, drill, or sandpaper.
Joe Bag of Donuts –
This product is thinner than the original JB Weld. All you need to do is stir it to mix thoroughly and then apply it. It’s a one-use jar; however, I managed to get a small extra coat two days later, though it turned out quite clumpy. Overall, it works effectively and is very easy to use. It successfully filled a 1/8-inch hole and addressed the stress cracks around it on my 21hp B&S Craftsman lawnmower engine block.
A360XPERIENCE STUDENT –
I prepared all surfaces using a Dremel with a wire brush attachment, resulting in shiny, clean metal. My first impression of the product was that it was surprisingly small. While it claims to be 3 ounces by weight, it’s definitely less than 3 fluid ounces in volume. To make matters worse, it weighed even less than 3 ounces on a scale, including the tub, leaving me feeling a bit deceived.
Next, I noticed that the product had a thick, dense paste consistency, unlike the liquid shown in the videos. I suspect this is due to faulty packaging or a damaged seal. The color was correct—tan and black before mixing, turning into cement gray after mixing—but the mixing process was labor-intensive, as it felt almost like cured cement.
I rushed through each step without allowing any time between opening, mixing, and applying to avoid premature curing. However, due to its nearly-dry cement consistency, the paste struggled to adhere to the clean metal. I had to resort to using wooden objects to hold it in place.
After waiting about 30 hours, my makeshift setup worked, and the epoxy dried completely, but its strength was disappointing. The lightweight metal parts came apart with minimal effort, relying only on their own weight. I was trying to attach a light heat shield to a vehicle floor; one side already had good bolts holding it, and I was only fixing the side where a stud had broken off. Unfortunately, the bond didn’t last long enough for even a test drive. The epoxy felt only slightly stronger than a dried sandcastle—firm enough to hold its shape but not much else. I could crumble it with my fingers, despite allowing ample drying time.
In summary, this project demanded considerable time and effort, and the lackluster results were frustrating and disheartening. I plan to return this to the seller. While regular JB Weld has been reliable, this extreme heat version has proven to be a complete failure.

User-friendly product. It’s best to mix thoroughly for at least 60 seconds until the paste is completely blended. Work efficiently, as the paste begins to set once mixed. Smooth out the surface before allowing it to cure. Ensure to leave it for at least 16 hours for a full cure! A gentle heat can assist with the drying process.
Country Cook –
I’ve used this product previously, and it’s great for various repair tasks. This time, I tried it to secure the pegs that hold the faux logs in my gas fireplace. The pegs were becoming loose and would even fall out if disturbed. While the weld held strongly to the pegs, it didn’t bond well with the logs themselves. Even after curing for 48 hours, the logs came loose.

I bought this product to fix a cracked ash fettle in my old Vermont Castings wood-burning stove, and it completely surpassed my expectations. It lasted an entire season with direct fire exposure. The fettle was broken into two pieces, and a previous owner had attempted a fix using an aluminum “bridge” with holes drilled on either side, which caused issues with the door closing. I needed to effectively “weld” the cast iron sides back together. Instead of taking it to a welder and incurring costs, I decided to try J-B Weld ExtremeHeat.
I prepared the surfaces using a Dremel tool with a fine grinding stone, cleaning both broken edges and about 1/4 inch around the crack. Following advice from another review, I used a cotter pin in my battery-powered drill to mix the J-B Weld thoroughly (note that this is a single-use container, so you must use it right after stirring). After stirring for just under 2 minutes, I applied the mixture to the surfaces, aligned the pieces, and added a bit more on each side for extra support. I then placed it on a flat piece of cardboard and let it cure for 2 days. (Important: support the joint during curing, as J-B Weld provides no structural support until fully cured; otherwise, the pieces will separate.)
Once cured, I reinstalled the fettle and lit the first fire of the season, hoping for the best. Several months and over 100 fires later, it remains as strong as the day I installed it. The fettle is directly exposed to the fire, and many logs have rolled against it while incredibly hot, but there’s been no noticeable damage. I wholeheartedly recommend J-B Weld ExtremeHeat and would use it again for future projects. With proper preparation and adherence to the instructions, it’s a fantastic product!

I had a significant hole in the crankcase of my Chinese ATV, and this product sealed it perfectly with just one layer. I’ve been riding for months without any problems, even through considerable temperature changes. I’m truly impressed by its effectiveness. I highly recommend it! If you go off-road, it’s a good idea to keep some in your toolkit for emergencies.
